Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

I’ve been feeling the cold as of recent, a bit low on energy and craving something warm and comforting and not calorific.  The Christmas pounds have really made their mark and I’m struggling to shift them, so what could be better than trying a Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe.

I was given a Slow Cooker as a gift for Christmas so I thought this was the perfect time to try it out.  I have the Morphy Richards 3.5 litre Sear & Stew Slow Cooker; I really like this model because of the hob-proof cooking pot, you can sear the meat in the pot first before putting it and all other ingredients into the slow cooker meaning less washing up! That would be the decider for me if I was buying!

So to cure my craving of a much needed winter warmer I decided to try out Laura Fuentes’ Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup recipe of Momables.  Laura is an expert in helping parents make healthy convenience food that is appealing to kids as well as making quick and easy recipes for packed lunches for the school or the office.  Go check out her website for some inspiration.

I’ve wanted to try out a Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe for a while but I wanted to make sure I was cooking something healthy and that isn’t full of salt or sugar like some of the branded ones.  I can also add extra vegetables if I need an extra hit of vitamins AND best of all I can create a batch and freeze it meaning for those days when you’re feeling tired and exhausted you have something quick and easy to reheat.

See how easy the Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe is to make:

So did the soup hit the spot?  Oh yes indeedy!  Try adding different vegetables like I did, whatever takes your fancy or you have in the fridge.  The herb rosemary might be a good alternative too.  Create the soup you want it to be; that’s what I love about it, it’s so versitile

(NB:  if freezing leave out the last stage and cook the pasta separately as pasta doesn’t freeze too well and generally disintegrates).
